What is the personal information we collect and for what purpose?

Scope of data managed: For all hostel guests: Gender, Surname and first name, birth name, mother’s name, place and time of birth, home address, ID card number, ID card photos. An e-mail address and telephone number for the person booking.

Please also note that the telephone number and e-mail address provided when completing the form on the site do not require the inclusion of personal data. For example, it is not necessary for the e-mail address to include the name of the data subject. The data subject is free to choose whether to provide an existing e-mail address that contains information indicating his or her identity.

Legal basis for data management

The legal basis for data processing is the consent of the data subject to the data provided by the user on the forms on the website, which must be given before sending.

Information on the data management of the data requested for the VIZA system:

The picture of the ID card is used only for uploading it into the VIZA system, based on the legal basis which entered into force on 1st of January 2021, Act CLVI of 2016 on the state tasks of the development of tourist areas. Amendment of the Act, which obliges the accommodation service provider to record the data of the occupying guests on a storage space ensured by the hosting provider designated by the Government for the purpose specified in the law.

The hosting provider designated by the Government is the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ). The hosting responsibilities introduced by the amendment of the law are performed by the Guest Information Closed Database (VIZA) system. Once uploaded into the data repository, the picture submitted by the data controller is immediately deleted from the database and transmitted as encrypted data in the VIZA system.

How long do we keep personal information?

It handles the contact details provided during the forms until the user’s consent is revoked, but no later than the deadline specified by law. You can request the deletion of the data in a letter sent from the e-mail address provided by the data subject to the e-mail address of the data controller.

Why do we collect data?

Requesting and storing the data is necessary for the data subjects to stay there in accordance with the law. In addition to providing a telephone number and e-mail address, data collection is for this purpose only. We may use the phone number and email provided on the form for marketing purposes. This can be unsubscribed by the data subject using the above-mentioned method.
